Shawn Theunissen

“I’m passionate about unearthing the potential within people.”

Shawn has over 15 years of experience in senior management roles in both corporate and non-governmental sectors. His diverse development expertise includes designing and implementing business support services, creating market linkages between SMMEs and large corporate entities; managed and delivered complex local, regional, and international projects. Outside of his role as founder of Property Point and Entrepreneurship to the Point he is the Corporate Social Responsibility Executive at the largest JSE-listed property company in South Africa and President of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce (JCCI). Shawn is also Chair of the Social Enterprise Africa (SEAA) board and sits on multiple executive boards, including the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE).

Desigan Chetty

Desigan is an Economic Transformation Strategist who has over 15 years of experience with a focus on Economic Inclusion, Empowerment Financing, Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD), Transformation, and BBBEE. He has held various Senior Management roles focusing on BBBEE Transformation and Strategic Alignment at listed financial institutions. In his role as Chief Operations Officer at Property Point, he drives inclusion strategies with Small and Growing Businesses in conjunction with public, private, and international partners focusing on access to finance, markets, and business development support. Desigan has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom), he is a designated Chartered Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa CAIB(SA), and he has completed a MDP in Incubation Governance (IGMDP) and recently completed an Executive Course on Impacting Investing in Africa.

She has spent several years in the enterprise and supplier development sector, managing, and implementing business development interventions for SMMEs.

Carmine Fritz

Carmine has extensive experience in operations management, project and programme management, strategy development and client relations. She enjoys building and nurturing relationships, thrives on personal and business development, and has strong interpersonal communication skills.

He briefly managed Intersite’s marketing and business development department before joining their capital projects team, where he was responsible for planning and implementing capital projects nationally.

His experience expanded as he managed large-scale residential developments while with Absa’s development team. Leonard then took on the role of Senior Development Manager at the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), overseeing capital projects across the City of Johannesburg. His expertise also extended to the CoJ Property Company, where he facilitated private sector investment into the city’s property portfolio.

At Property Point, Leonard continues his dedication to empowering small businesses, helping them navigate and access opportunities within the property value chain. His extensive background in property development and investment makes him a key figure in driving the success of Property Point’s initiatives.

Mmapula Mangena

She then enrolled in the YES programme under Property Point, where she underwent a comprehensive year-long training in administration. Zanele is currently working as an Information Officer for the Kagiso Incubation Hub and an administrator for LED, utilising her skills to drive the success of the organisation.

Nokwanda Motsitsi

In her previous role at the policy development unit of one of South Africa’s leading development agencies, she tracked policy developments and advocated for interventions across the education, civil society, local government, and small business sectors. At Property Point, she leverages her knowledge and research interests in policy analysis and advocacy, feminist studies and community development to contribute to research advocacy, focusing on key issues relevant to South Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Aubrey Ramotlhale

Letlhogonolo is skilled enterprise and supplier development practitioner with over four years of experience, specialising in monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment of programmes focused on the growth of small and emerging enterprises. She is responsible for designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, conduct evaluations, and developing tools to measure the impact of these interventions. Her experience includes engaging directly with entrepreneurs, assessing their businesses’ procurement readiness, and aligning programme frameworks with international standards like the SDG’s, Social Value UK, DCED standard. With a Master of Commerce in Economics from North-West University, She is passionate about contributing to societal change and fostering economic development.
