Maphefo Sipula is a Development Economist who currently holds the role of Head of Research and Gender Lead at Property Point. She has an interest in economic research and is passionate about socio-development. Maphefo holds a Master of Science in Industrialisation, Trade and Development (Cum-Laude) from the University of Manchester. Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Development Theory and Policy and Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Applied Economics both from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has other various qualifications such as Post Graduate Diploma in Development Finance from Stellenbosch Business School. Maphefo has experience in economic research with various academic institutions and has interned at development finance institution under the leadership of the Special Envoy on Gender focusing on conducting research on gender mainstream in trade and infrastructure project. In her current role, she drives the research strategy and oversees designing and conducting research that informs decision making, policy, strategy, and programme design within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. She previously served as a Gender Advisory and Design Committee member for Aspen Network Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) South African chapter where they sought to develop a solution to increase access to finance for women owned businesses.
